Been found.

So my last post was nearly a year ago and it was about how well things have been going and feeling lost in my own world. Well aparently I did get lost because well its been a long time since I last posted anything. I have found myself and thought maybe its a good idea that I get back in the habit about posting on my poor neglected blog.

This month has been rather busy for us. I did my first show for the year last weekend down on Galveston's Strand (Galveston, TX), it was a nice day and we did really well. This weekend we have another show out in Angleton, TX at the Angleton Market Days, I always have a blast while out there so really looking forward to it. Also the next weekend we have a show with the League City Heritage Foundation at the Longhorn Museum (League City, TX) . So like I said very very very busy.

Along with all of the new shows we have gotten involved in I have start making new styles of dresses, mostly for a consignment shop that I have been with for nearly a year, the Cutie Patootie in Texas City, Tx. But these darn dresses are sooo darn cute that I have start to carry them with me to the shows too. My little Juleen has been such a good model that I really couldnt ask for better.

So to end my story for today, here is a few pictures of my new dresses and hope to see you at show

This is the Sugar and Spice Ruffle dress

This one is our cowgirl summer dress, it has a halter style top and a maxi dress length

This was our lollipop bubble dress (sold out of it within a week, that was awesome), has a halter style top with a bubble skirt

And our spring fling ruffle dress

I have plenty more piles of fabric and ideas to get going on, now just to find all the time I need to get sewing. Little miss and my mister, keep me busy most of the time but its fun when they let me sew.

Lost in my own world.

Well things are doing great over here. LOL. I have been doing lots and lots and lots of sewing, so much sew that I think I could sew in my sleep if I was daring enough to try, But I am too chicken, afraid I might loose a finger or two and I am slightly attached to them so not going to try it.

My plan for the year has been to do at least one craft show/festival booth, that will allow me to carry my craft, a month. Success on that since March, soo much so that I am booked for two shows a month for the next 3 months and November. Which is good because I am getting out there meeting the customers and getting my name out there, Great. Of course the down side of that is as soon as the show is over I have to quickly replenish what was sold for the next one. But I am having a blast. On top of all the shows I have my items in two consignmnent shops and that is a blast because I get to know what the shop owners want and make new items that I would of never thought of making.

So half the year is gone and I swear I just woke up yesterday and it was the begining of the year. Hope the rest of yall are having a blast through your year and if you arent doing craft shows/festivals yet, but thinking about it, just throw yourself into it. The worst thing that can happen is you dont and never know what you are missing out on.

Super mom

For several years now my mother in law has called me super mom, I always took it as a compliment, that is until recently. I have gotten to be too super.

I am a stay at home mom with two kids. My son is 6 and my daughter is 17 months. I earned the title super mom when my son was 2 and half, I had started babysitting some of my friends kids and managed to keep the house clean and diner on the table. Then shortly after my son turned three, I started my own business. It started out small, just sewing in my spare time and during nap times, I was still babysitting so couldn’t sew with 3-4 toddlers running around. Well I have been running this business for a little over 3 years now. Things have definitely improved and I have grown. My business has grown, my family has grown, my children have grown and now I sit here screaming slow down. I know growth is good, but sometimes things seem to grow too fast. I will not complain, tooooo much but I am just blown at how fast things grow.

It feels as if yesterday I started this business and to see where it is today, I am proud. To know both my children are receiving the benefits of my business is also something that makes me proud. It makes me thrive and makes me want to work harder knowing that one day this business may grow to a point that I will need and be able to get a larger space to work in and many other things that I only dream of right now.

SO now I don’t take being called as a compliment, I feel I have earned it as a title and enjoy hearing my Mother in law call me by it and my children too.
PS: although food is always on the table, now we don’t always have a clean house. Please don’t think I am MEGAMOM.

Angleton Tx Market Days

We spent the weekend at a new market, and it was great. It was fun to stand in my booth and watch all the passersby, most of them greeting other family members or friends from the community. I must admit when we signed up for the event, I did not know that this was their first show and I had never been to Angleton. I will also admit that this was the nicest event/show I have done. Of course I dont have a ton of experience in doing these events, May last year was when I did my first one but this one beats all of them by far. And of course we made new friends with the other vendors, which is always fun.

We will be returning to this lovely event in November and I think we will be really enjoying it. Its a nice close knit community and everyone is very nice. Even when we were all tearing down our booths everyone helped one another. Lovely Lovely Lovely.

An Amazing Vacation

My Husband need to take some classes for his work in Dallas last week so we put together a little vacation for me and the kids, The last time I took time off of my shop was when I had my baby girl 16 months ago. LOL. And I dont really recall the break I had before that.

So while Hubby was in class me and the kids had fun all day long. We did a lot of swimming, went to the zoo and on the way home we went to dinosaur world. When we got home, some distant relatives were visiting so we played a couple more days with them. The kids really had fun with all of their cousins.

Now its Monday, get back to work day and I am finding it a little hard getting back into the groove. The kids too are having a hard time not running out side to play but we will get there eventually.

We did get to have an amazing vacation and with a little one it wasnt too hard on the brain driving there and back with her screaming in the back seat.

Here is a pic of Davin in a Dino Mouth from our trip to Dino world. That was the best part of the trip in my opinion.
