1KM Interview - Barretzz

Here is one of our newer members, Barretzz - she makes the cutest little baby shoes ever. Or at least that is my opinion. LOL. I am sure once you see these you are going to agree and love them too. I just wish I had a baby to put them on now. LOL.

Well here we go with the questions

When did you first start your craft, and what made you want to try?

I started doing the hairclips last year, for a friend that always complains about not finding 'cute' barrettes for her little one. From there to this point, it has been an experimenting road. The shoes came from a pattern my mom had from the '70's - which I updated a little - and now they are everywhere!

What do you love the most about the items you make? *

The detail that I have to give them. I love the thought of little feet, little people in them.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I'm Peruvian, but came many years ago to get my Master's degree in Architecture, got a job and stayed here. I am a part time architect, and part time crafter for the mayority of my time, and the remaining time is for my family and friends.

How about your favorite color?

My favorite color is orange.

What is something you really want to try making?

I'll love to learn to work with glass. I've always been curious about the material. I love stained glass, blowned glass.. everything in glass basically.

Are there any other craft fields you dabble in?

I know how to do Tiffany lamps with glass, I also do needle work, embroidery, paint, drawings.

I've been doing something with my hands and creating something since I was a little one.

What brought you to 1000Markets?

I read an article in Trunkt recomending the site. It's been a great finding!

If you could give 1 piece of advice to somebody just starting in your field, what would it be?*

Patience. Sells will come, you will get notice. It just takes a lot of patience and love for your craft.
