More funny photos

Alright we had some more fun today. Here take a look for your self.

Alright here is Sweet Aryana playing peeka boo through the bars of her small prison.

Davin and Avari found a new toy, instead of the craddle they love this poor rubbermaid box, I think Davin wants to be an acrobat today.

Ohh that was funny he fell down and it was hilarious.

Now they are trying to do flips off the arm of the couch, evil evil children.

Silly kids

So I baby sit on top of everything else I do, I am sure I mentioned this before but I wanted to show all of you my funny little kids. Two of which I have no photos of right now because they didnt come. The two that didnt come are Malana and Maddox, and the two that did come are Avari and Aryana, of course there is My Davin, who I would never ever trade anything for even though he drives me insane from time to time.
Any ways on to the photos.
Avari and Davin acting like they are babies, see their bottles. They were even covered in the blankets and laying on the pillows at one point. Couldnt get my camera out fast enough.

Here is Avari trying to escape. And she managed to get away, darn it

Here is the beautiful Aryana, smelling all baby like and so sweet.

And now she is mad at me because I wont let her chew on my camera, what happened to the sweet baby from a minute ago?

Surprise featured artist 9/28/08

I call this my surprise featured artist because I did not inform the artist that I was going to feature her, she is on the cafemom team that I am on called Cafemom etsy moms.

Building Block Pillow

Made with soft fleece in bright primary colors each block has a polka dotted number and letter appliquéd on one side (123 and ABC). They are filled with a non-allergenic polyfil to give them shape but are still very squishy like a pillow so they are easier for little arms to grasp and hold. Each of the three pillows measures appx. 11" x 11".The possibilities of play are endless! Let your toddler practice carrying and stacking, naming colors, numbers, letters, make a fort, play peek-a-boo, play catch...

Finger Puppets

Little ones can enjoy creative play making up stories and adventures and then acting them out with these adorable barnyard finger puppets. After all the fun is done, put them to sleep in their own spots marked with hand embroidered letters, then roll and tie to keep them safe for more play later.

Set has four animals including pig, rooster, sheep and horse. Caddy for animals is made of cotton canvas and lined in a quilters cotton. All seams are reinforced to hold up to repeated love and washing. Machine wash tumble dry.

Car Seat Cover

This beautiful, original car seat cover for the Britax Marathon features coordinating, 100% cotton colorfast prints in stripe and squiggle patterns. Comes with belly pad that helps protect little legs and tummies from hot seat belts! Fabric is a heavy weight, durable fabric but still very soft and smooth.

The cover snugly fits the Marathon frame for comfort and safety. This is not a one size fits all! Every cover is tried on to make sure there is a perfect fit.

Ae baby is a great artist putting all efforts into making the perfect gift for her customers. It is amazing to see the items she puts together.

Featured artist moved

I am moving my days to do featured artists, hoping it will help me get to them. I am moving it from Monday to Sunday. So I will have one posted a little later today. I have to go back to babysitting my little girls, the mommas had some time off and the hurricane made it hard for us to all get together again, but enough time has passed and every one is at a point where they need to work. So I Have to baby sit for them, my weeks are going to get a whole lot crazier especially with two infants and four toddlers counting my own, but it will be fun and entertaining. I just thought since I wont have the kids on the weekends normally it would be easiest to do featured artist when I have just my own to fight with.

Wow

I am sitting in the middle of my house, well the living room, sitting with my computer on the floor at 9 in the morning and everyone is sleeping around me, such a wierd feeling. We had to camp out on the floor last night, at 7 the power went out again because of the dumb debris movers. I live on a quiet street where the speed limit is 25 MPH and the power lines sag from all of the wind and what not during the hurricane well some guy decides to go down our street at 50 and blows not one but three transformers and because it was so late in the day, power company cannot and will not be out till this after noon. So yay we are running on generator power again, Hubby is such a work aholic I at least get the internet to play on, LOL. Oh and cable to watch, they are connected. So thought this was wierd and thought I would share it with you all. Feels like I am in a rich community in a third world country, we have luxury but no food or water. LOL. No we did connect the fridge to the generator too but we havent got much food in there yet because we were afraid this would happen. And there is currently no hot water because heater isnt hooked up, and boy am I glad there is no Texas heat today, nice cool fall weather, got pretty cool last night too had to pull out the blanket even though there was no AC it is awesome, almost like camping in your own house, LOL. Ok I am done being a dork and I hope you are all having fun out there. Man do I need to get to work on something maybe I will go back to clearing things out of Davin's room. Should take photos of it before it gets all torn down, I will miss it. LOL all right really done now.

When it rains it pours

Man does that explain my life right now. Ok Hurricane Ike hits, house is ruined, well more or less, and lastly to take the cake, my grandpa has had either a heart attack or stroke. They have him admitted into the hospital and they are going to run EKG and dopplers on him tonight or tomorrow morning, they do know or pretty sure that he has a blocked artery. Which I know is pretty typical and routine to fix but still ughhhhhhhhhh, I want to pull all my hair out and scream. I had to come home after leaving to help out with my grandma and him and all his what ever goes on with that because every one else has real jobs. LOL. I really dont want to see a car again. I spent 5 hours in the car Saturday so we can come home and work on the house, and then 8 to go back out of town so hubby can be at work and then 5 again to come home and then Wednesday it will be more like 9-10 so I can go get hubby and bring him home. I have a huge migraine already with thinking about this. So insane. Alright I am done whining, seems like that is all I do lately.

Back in Austin

Alright we have made it back into Austin for a few days. We should be returning to a friends house down thte street from my house on Wednesday so we can start work on the on Thursday. We have to take all the furniture that is upstairs and put it into storage so that the workers that come to do repairs can get into the rooms to replace all the walls and ceilings. We will be staying at my friends house at night so that me and my son can breathe. We staid Saturday night at the house tried to sleep in it and I had so many asthma attacks that I didnt get very much sleep so that will not happen again, LOL. Also this helps her out with going back to work, I am normally her baby sitter so she hasnt been to work since the hurricane came through because I am not there to baby sit for her. She tried taking the babies to her MIL and her BIL beat her kid so she doesnt want to do that again. Makes sense to me. LOL. Any ways, my getting on the internet and all will be patchy at best for a while, but on the upside, my house has power, and the downstairs is fine. We will be more than probably be replacing the floors upstairs too, means I finally get tile in my room instead of carpet which is very exciting to me. So I am currently excited and depressed at the moment, it is like a literal roller coaster ride in my head. LOL.

Having fun in Austin

Most of you all know we have been staying in Austin thanks to Hurricane Ike, well we decided to go and have some fun yesterday, so we walked down to the local park. These are pictures of Davin posing for me. This first one he has my sister laughing because he was looking for snakes and couldnt find them so he started to stomp his feet.
This next one he was hiding from me. He stood behind that tree and closed his eyes thinking I couldnt see him. So silly. When he saw this photo load onto the camera he told me, "Aww, man you not see me there did you?"

Here is Davin on the slide. He had tons of fun on the slides. I think that is his favorite thing at the park besides the pool. We didnt get to go swimming yesterday because of it being a little chilly. But next time we go I will post some photos of him in his swim suit, he is so cute in it.

Davin saying, "Cheese!"

All in all we have had tons of fun and really dont look forward to returning home. Only because it is going to be a lot of work to clean it all up. But at the same time cant wait to go home because it would be nice to get life back to normal.

Getting work done

I am so proud of myself I am actually getting things made today. After going so many days without making a thing, I have finally gotten the gumption to get something done, and it is sooooo nice. Made several crayon rolls, some diaper inserts and hope to go to the fabric store to get some more stuff to work on. Now my problem is I have no camera to list my items with AHHHHHHHH. LOL. Isnt it just funny. Ohh well.

Ohh and I found out the claims adjuster should be out to my house in two days. My MIL is staying in the house now so she will be there for when he comes. Hope that means things will get to moving quickly, she said there is already mold growing on the walls, so I wont go home till things are done. My son and I are both asthmatics and I am highly allergic to molds so I am not going to go stay in that at all.

I am so excited. Yeah.

Featured Artist 9/15/08

Ohh it is so nice to do this again!

This weeks Artist

I love this woman. She is super talented and makes some really great items. She belongs to a couple of really awesome groups and is really cool.

She makes a wide range of items

pillow case dresses

eyelash scarves

hats

booties and mittens

blankies and burpies

aprons

M2M dresses and hairbows

table runners and placemats

Here are my favorites from her store

These dresses are so coool and cute, each one made out of an awesome fabric with satin ribbon for the shoulder straps.

Such an awesome fabric print. Each blanket so clearly made with tons of love for the child or baby it will go to.

And these aprons are totally cute. Even for the boys they are cute.

I know this one seems to be a little short and to the point, I didnt get a chance to do my interview, Hurricane Ike has made my doing my thing a little distracting but a little difficult also. Alright Hope you all enjoy and all those that are also affected I hope you are all doing well, I know home are destroyed and lives are distracted but I hope you are well as far health goes. All my best wishes go out to you all.

another update

MIL made it to the house and was looking inside to see if there is any damage. My roof leaked bad, my sons room will have to be completely gutted and rewalled. my stair way is full of water, the walls will need to be redone. Her room has water coming through the light sockets so even though the power is off when it comes back on we will have to rerun electrical wires because she wont have sense enough not to try to use it. Ohh and I love my MIL she just has no sense some times. So the downstairs didnt get flooded but the upstairs got damaged by the rain and there is only more to come. So my question is this does any one know of a good roofer and sheet rockers that will work for cheap. LOL

Hurricane Ike update 9/14/08

I got an update on my house yesterday night. My uncle went to the house and checked on it. We live not too far to Dickinson Bayou, so we were afraid of flooding, there was no flooding in my house. We were also afraid of trees flying into our house because we have about 30 pine trees in the back yard, no trees on our house. We have lots of wind damage though, there is lots of shingles off of our house. it is so bad that we might as well get a new roof. So I am sooo happy to see my house is fine and all my fabric and machines are not ruined and when I go home I will still have something to go to, but there wont be power for 2-4 weeks on my house so that does me no good. We were told not to go home for two more days at least due to nothing is working over there, no power, sewage, water. Hope every one else has fared as well as we have and wish you all well.

Hurricane Ike and my strength

OMG I am so terrified and excited right now. Ike is headed straight for my house right now. We left Wednesday night. Hubby had to be in Austin for work and we just went a head and took advantage of the time to leave. It was amazing how much taffic was already headed out. We took the long way also, we went through Bellville on through Bastrop and what ever little towns were on the way. Hubby hates traffic. Well we got here safely and in one piece. Today I have been watching the news and I just know my house is going to be flooded so I am excited because this is the only way I will get to move and get a new house and this means we have to pick up what is left and start all over again. I am only 24 so there isnt much to start over but still it is a sickening thought.

Today my hubby is emotional from the medication he is on. So we were watching the news and he started to cry. He is terrified of what we are going to go home to. It is funny yes but sad too makes me want to cry to see him so upset.

Anyhow, my four year old is enjoying this, even more amazing is that he understands what is happening he is ok with the fact that our house may not be there when we return and he is alright with the idea of all his toys being ruined. My son is my strength. I want to be like him when I grow. He is just so amazing.

To give you an idea of how damaged my house will be, I live 20 minutes away from Galveston Island. If you are familiar with the area or following this storm you will know how bad this can be. Ohh well.

All those that stayed home for this I am keeping you in my prayers, those of you who were like me and ran I thank you for doing what is best for you and yours. And I pray for the best for all of you.

Apology

First I want to apologize, I have done a horrible job of keeping up with my posts the last week and a half. I didnt make an effort, worried about Gustav coming and we having to evacuate, well that passed and didnt come so then Hubby left on a business trip and took us with him. That was fun for me and the little critter, Davin. We get home and not even a day later had to take some food relief and water to our Uncle in LA. Where he was in Gonzalez there was no power, they had a generater but he couldnt find the adapter to hook it up to his well, so he had no running water, before we got there they couldnt leave their town to go a few towns over for food, so they went without food for a few days, trees were blocking the road ways. By the time we had heard from them they were able to get through the towns, road ways were cleared and they got to the red cross for food and water. So funny thing, we rush over there to help aid them in getting them relief, they are family dont want to leave them without, Ohh we live near Houston TX, to tell you about how far we drove. So literally ten minutes before we drive up to their house, the power turns on, they were originally told they wouldnt have power for another week, hence why we went out there in such a rush. It was amazing the things we saw. Huge trees uprooted. There was a trailer in a trailer park with a truck in front of it and tree on top of the truck the tree was so huge that it literally covered the entire truck, and missed the trailer literally by two inches. I wish I had my camera. We went by a gas station that was selling gas and food stuff on the inside but the roof was completely gone. There was a curfew set for a few of the parishes when we left and if a cop saw you after curfew he would pull you over and take you to jail no questions asked and they didnt take you to just the county jail they took you to the big jail. Dont remember the name. It wasnt too bad but still it was so unreal and the amount of damage was unbelievable, I have only mentioned a few things I saw. There is a 17 mile bridge between Lafayette and Baton Rouge and going into Baton Rouge if you are traveling the bridge during day light you can see where a tornado literally followed beside the bridge a literally just layed down trees. Even almost a week after the hurricane had tore up Southern LA cleaning crews didnt get to go out there and clean the highways, trees were pushed to the side from the traffic passing by them. And now there is Hurricane IKE, hopefully he doesnt take the same path as Gustav because that area will just be gone, it is bad now, it will only be worse. Well I hope to have a post for tomorrow. Again I wanted to apologize for not being able to get around to posting and tell you of my small adventures this week. Hope every one is safe and healthy and have a good week.
